Common questions
- Is my case data private?
- Yes. Clearhavn is private by default. Your case records, evidence, and notes are only accessible to you and people you explicitly invite. We never sell or share your data, and files are stored in encrypted private storage.
- Can I cancel Pro anytime?
- Yes. You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from the billing settings. You'll keep Pro features until the end of your current billing period, after which your account reverts to the Free plan. Your data stays intact.
- Do I need an attorney to use Clearhavn?
- No. Clearhavn is built for self-represented parents as well as people working with attorneys. It helps you organize your case, document incidents, and prepare a clear chronology — whether you have a lawyer or not.
- Is Clearhavn legal advice?
- No. Clearhavn is a case organization tool, not a substitute for a licensed attorney. We help you keep your records clear and structured, but we do not provide legal advice or represent you in court.
- Can I share my case with my attorney?
- Yes. Pro users can invite an attorney by email for read-only access. The attorney sees a focused, uncluttered view of your case — timeline, events, evidence, and supporting materials — and can print or export for offline review.
- What happens to my data if I delete my account?
- When you delete your account, your case records, files, and personal information are permanently removed. You can also download a complete copy of your data as JSON at any time from your account settings.
- What's the difference between attachments and documents?
- Attachments are evidence linked to specific events — photos, screenshots, audio, or video of what happened. Documents are case-level files like court filings, orders, and correspondence. Both are stored securely in your case.
- Can I import data from another app or spreadsheet?
- Not yet — we currently focus on a clean, deliberate setup process. If you have a large amount of existing data and want to discuss import, email us at support@clearhavn.com.
